The Invisible Orange presents: DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT with MIZMOR and GLASSING.

DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT
British extreme metal band formed in 2006. The band consists of four balaclava-wearing individuals who perform with their backs to the audience, often accompanied by candles, a single stroboscopic light, and large amounts of smoke. Their intense sound combines influences from all major extreme metal genres. Their debut album, Hatred for Mankind, was produced by the acclaimed Billy Anderson.  Following the release of the album, the band played Damnation Festival and Maryland Deathfest.

MIZMOR
מזמור, or Mizmor, is a one-man heavy music exploration that began in 2012 as a way of processing the mental and spiritual anguish. Mizmor, A.L.N., underwent through loss of faith in Christianity. Over the course of the proceeding decade, A.L.N.  slowly changed from struggling Christian, to agnostic, and finally to atheist. During this evolution A.L.N. used Mizmor, which means “psalm,” “prayer,” or “melody” in Hebrew, as a form of therapy. The songs literally started as prayers to God, grappling with doubt and depression, much like some of the darker chapters of the book of Psalms. After some time the songs became more existential - primal and innate musings about cause, purpose, self, and god (in a more universal sense). Eventually Mizmor became about the absence of god and the healing A.L.N. experienced through accepting this. Nowadays, Mizmor's songs are about consciousness, ideas, mankind, and the future to name a few things (and still depression and anxiety, which A.L.N. continues to battle). Mizmor will always be about following the most reasonable path given the current evidence and processing grief through creating and sharing art so that others may be helped with similar struggles.

Mizmor appears live with the help of Andrew Black, Blake Ferrin, and Nate Myers.

GLASSING
No one does heavy music quite like Glassing. While owing as much to the emotion of The Cure as they do to Neurosis or Pg. 99, it’s nearly impossible to pigeonhole their melding of jagged riffs and crystalline melodies. The Austin, TX trio, named after a Planes Mistaken for Stars song, established themselves with 2019’s inimitable “Spotted Horse” and their 2021 follow-up, “Twin Dream” (Brutal Panda Records) showcasing their duality of grace and malevolence alike.

Made whole by Cory Brim’s undeniably unique guitar voicing and melodies, Dustin Coffman’s vocal abilities and colossal bass, Scott Osment’s (Deaf Club) precise fury behind the kit, the group excels at seamlessly blending devastating riffs and heart-wrenching melody. 2024 saw the band join Berlin’s Pelagic Records for their 4th full-length album, “From the Other Side of the Mirror” that further cemented them as a unique pillar of underground heavy music.
