Ashley plays the fiddle with an intensity, authenticity and passion that is hard to deny. He learned his chops at an early age mentored by some of the legendary greats of the area, performing all over the Island in halls, clubs, barns and kitchens. Hi How Are You was released in the mid 90's and the accolades rolled in, the awards, the touring, the interviews and appearances, the persona took shape and the legend took hold.

THE SECRET BEACH
The Secret Beach is pure makin’ stuff. Led by Matlock, Manitoba–born songwriter Micah Erenberg (aka Karima Micah), the project blends country, folk, and slacker rock—somewhere between a campfire jam and The White Album—with warmth, humor, and meticulous DIY production. Often joined by longtime collaborators Daniel Diamond and Kacy Lee Anderson, as well as various other friends, The Secret Beach creates music that feels unhurried, intimate, and effortlessly lived-in. In 2025, their long-player We Were Born Here, What’s Your Excuse? earned a JUNO nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, a rare nod for a record made on a shoestring, guided by friendship, intuition, and a bizarrely spiritual connection with producer Rob Fraboni.
